What is Chiropractic?

A List of Benefits Of Chiropractic Care

Although chiropractic is known for moving the bones in the spine, correcting back pain is only a portion of the wonderful benefits chiropractic has to offer. Chiropractors are doctors who specialize in nerve function and whole body physiology. The brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves make up the nervous system. Nerves are attached to every living cell, allowing your body to move, your heart to pump blood, your lungs to exchange oxygen, and to alert us if something is wrong by creating pain. This is why the integrity of the nervous system is so vital to our health since that is what holds every cell of our body together to coordinate our bodies.

Everyday we experience stress. Stress can be physical (injury/trauma), chemical (unhealthy foods/drugs), or emotional (thoughts) stress. Our bodies are divinely designed to adapt to these stressors. But what happens when it can't adapt anymore? Spinal bones may start to shift in an attempt to adapt to the stress and in this process can put pressure on close-by nerves, "interfering" with the normal flow of nerve signals. When this gets interrupted, your body will malfunction: headaches, back pain, neck pain, sciatica, and if left too long, digestion problems, poor posture, or menstrual cycle issues may occur. As a chiropractor, my goal is to find the problem starting with the spine, and remove the inflammation or "interference" of nerves through chiropractic adjustments. There should be no negative symptoms if our nerves are working properly. The body has the power to heal itself, and chiropractors remove interferences stopping the body's inability to heal, so the body is able to heal and restore itself back to health.
